There are certain IDs that have been reserved for use by the system. Below is a list of IDs and their function.
| ID | Functionality |
|---|---|
| Sidebar | If supported by your site's skin, creating a page with the id of Sidebar will add a column of content to the existing page. |
There are two basic forms of site navigation: Folder Breadcrumbs and Flow.
Folder Breadcrumb navigation lets the user navigate the site based on the structure of the Folders and Pages. A traditional menu can be displayed to allow the user to self-direct the experience. To enable Folder Breadcrumbs navigation select "Display breadcrumbs" in the SubSite Options Manager.
Flow navigation supports the Next/Previous model that provides a guided experience. Unless overridden by defining "Custom Previous or Next links", flow proceeds from the first page of the first folder to the last page of the last folder. To enable Flow navigation, select "Display Previous or Next links" in the SubSite Options Manager.
Tip! Make sure that your Folders and Pages are ordered to reflect the natural flow through your site. Place any popups or side branches at the end of the Lesson. That way you only have to override the Next/Previous settings for exceptions.
Add - When adding a new page, a form is displayed asking for an ID and a Title. The title of the page may be edited at a later time if desired. However, the ID becomes part of the URL for that item. Use an ID that helps to explain the content location, but keep the ID brief. Shorter ID's will help keep the URL from becoming too lengthy several layers into the site.
Cut - This icon acts like "cut" in an MicroSoft Excel program. The page does not move from the location until it has been pasted into another location. Select the checkbox of the desired Page before selecting the Cut icon.
Copy - This will copy the page and all the content within that page. Select the checkbox of the desired Page before selecting the Cut icon.
Paste - This icon does not appear until a page has been copied or cut. A page can only be pasted into another page location. It cannot be pasted into a folder location. Copy and paste will link content items unless "Enable automatic de-linking on paste as default" is checked in the SubSite Options Manager.
Delete - There is not an "undo" feature to retrieve items that have been deleted. Please be sure to select only the pages that you want to delete. Select the checkbox of the desired Page before selecting the Delete icon.
Edit - The title of the page may be edited. The ID is permanent.
