Course Tracking

Course Start/Course Finish

This feature works along with the Course Tracking to note what stage a Public Authenticated User is in for the course. Once the Course Start and Course Finish pages are set by the Content Editor, the user will be tracked as: "Not started" the course, "In Progress" through the course, or have "Finished" the course.

To set this feature, the Content Editor must:

  • First, set the Sub-site Options, Editing Preferences to "Allow Course Tracking".
  • Next, navigate to the first page of the course.
  • In the Page Options section, select the radio button for "Course Start", then select "Set Page Options".
  • Finally, navigate to the last page of the course.
  • In the Page Options section, select the radio button for "Course Finish", then select "Set Page Options".

Helpful Hints

The first page of the course should not be set to the Home page, but to the page that the instructions actually begin. If it is set to the Home Page, each time the user visits the Home page, their course tracking will be reset to the "In Progress" status.
