Step 5: Create a EZRO Instance

You have now completed the installation of the EZRO software and are ready to create an EZRO "Instance." An EZRO Instance is created by adding a Meta Site and a Sub Site to Zope via the ZMI.

  1. In the ZMI, select "SAMS MetaSite" from the dropdown in the upper right corner. Before selection it will display "Select type to add..." SAMS was an early name for the EZRO proof-of-concept.
  2. You will be presented with the "Add SAMS MetaSite" form. As with the rest of EZRO, the ID must be unique and will be reflected in the URL that refers to the object. It can not include spaces or other special characters not allowed in a URL. The TITLE will be the display value in the admin interface. Complete the form and select the "create" button.
  3. Select the MetaSite in the ZMI to open the MetaSite.
  4. Select "SAMS SubSite" from the dropdown in the upper right corner. Before selection it will display "Select type to add..."
  5. You will be presented with the "Add SAMS SubSite" form. Again, the ID must be unique and will be reflected in the URL that refers to the object. It can not include spaces or other special characters not allowed in a URL. The TITLE will be the display value in the admin interface. The SKIN is used to specify the presentation layer to use. The skins included in zRO are "defaultGen" (web site look), "defaultRLO" (on-line learning look), and "defaultCoP" (three column web site look). Each also sets certain subsite level features that you can override later. Complete the form and select the "create" button.
